Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike robotvacuummops.com or other top-rated robots we test the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include getting rid of any clutter or toys it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from getting blocked. In our tests the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After connecting we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's still enough time to vacuum the majority of a home that's average size however, it's not enough to get every single spot (though an additional run-through often does the trick). However, this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice feature.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top choices and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled with the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on floors that are bare and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation features.

The app also makes it simple to steer the robot manually if needed. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some other robots.
